Winley Farm, 155 acres of lush paddocks and wooded areas, sits close to the center of Millbrook, New York in beautiful Dutchess County, 1 ½ hours north of New York City. In 2000, when the Goelkels decided to relocate their equine operation from Ireland to the United States, they fell in love with the beauty and history of this farm, and dedicated themselves to creating an equine paradise for the breeding and training of quality sport horses.
The barn facility, completed in 2002, consists of 34 12'x12' stalls, 6 16'x12' broodmare stalls with extra-wide doors, spacious grooming as well as washing areas, indoor horse walker, a 200’x100’ indoor ring with heated viewing area, veterinary laboratory, administrative offices and conference room. The barn manager’s apartment is upstairs, along with huge storage areas for hay and bedding.
All of the existing buildings have been completely renovated, including the owner’s residence, barn manager's house, and a large farmhouse, which has been divided into comfortable employee apartments.
In addition to providing a home to the Winley Farm horses, the site has also proven to be an excellent setting for events such as the 2004 through 2013 American Holsteiner Horse Association Breeding Stock Approvals. In previous years Winley Farm was selected as the AHHA East Coast Full Stallion approval site. In addition, Winley Farm has been offering the local public the chance to participate in clinics with Olympic Competitors Joe Fargis, Peter Leone and Peter Wylde.
