Owners Ester Mazzarelli and Judith Goelkel DVM

Our Beginnings

In 2000, the Goelkel family sold their breeding farm in Europe, and relocated to Dutchess County, New York, 1 ½ hours north of NYC. They had fallen in love with historic Winley Farm, 155 acres of lush paddocks and wooded areas in Millbrook, New York. Construction was immediately begun on the new barn complex, which was completed in 2002.

The family spent a number of years breeding, training and showing their meanwhile accumulated 50 horses.

The last two foals born at Winley Farm, full brothers Carvalito in 2008 and Commentator in 2009 (Carvallo/Corrado I), were exported to Germany in 2010. Carvalito is doing well under saddle and shows great potential in the jumper ring. Commentator is now a Holsteiner Verband approved stallion!

New Direction

In December of 2005, the broodmares were relocated to Holstein, Germany to continue breeding on home ground. The fillies and mares, under the direction of Andrea Goelkel, have proved to be quality broodmares. Tassina’s 2010 colt Clarcon (Casall/Cassini I) Stamm 3692, was approved at the Neumunster inspection November 2012, and was purchased by the Holsteiner Verband!

In 2007, the youngsters and performance horses were relocated to Borken, Germany, where Judith Goelkel has rededicated her focus on selecting and training the best show horses. To this day they have competed on a national and international level and have won and placed in numerous events.
